Previously I've only seen Louise Hart playing acousticly at stage (see here), so I was exited to see her backed by a full electric band.
This was not only Louise's debut public performance with the band, but it was first time that she played the electric guitar in front of an audience.
I was familiar with the talent of Louise from her 2002 debut album Louise Hart, which included the hits Romantic Movies and Okay, - the title track from the movie Okay, and ever since I've concidered Louise to be outrangeously neglected at the Danish music scene. Thus, for several years, she has been listed on my personal Award as one of the most underestimated Danish artists (see here). I'm sure that the new album is gonna change this!
Louise and her band gave 7 songs of powerfull rock songs, very passionately performed by Louise. Many times she sounded like Nina Persson from one of my favorite bands, The Cardigans, which becomes much more evident, when you listen to the new album, the excellent Velvet. It contains 12 songs of very high quality.
Many musician associates appeared in the audience, one of them being one of my guitar heroes, Billy Cross! I was fortunate to have a talk with him. I saw him playing the lead guitar in Gothenburg in 1978 as part of the Dylan band on his great European 1978 Tour. We talked about Dylan bootlegging and other collecters items. See my portraits of him below.
